Scope in Brief

The main aim of the project is to eliminate poppy cultivation and to make the hard and inaccessible areas of the Agency accessible to the Political Administration. Besides, improving local and rural economy for bringing the backward area at par with the developed areas of the Agency and elimination of illegal trade are other objectives of the Project.

Benefits on completion of project / employment generation during and after completion of project:

People to discourage poppy cultivation and to encourage legit agriculture crops, providing other infrastructure facilities in order to improve their standard of living.

Bottlenecks / issues impending progress on project (if any):

INL-P donor agency’s slow releases to the project and law and order situation in the project areahampers developmental schemes. However, the project would be revised on request of the FATA Secretariat, subject to commitment by the donor agency for completion of the planned schemes.
