1. Establishment of Drug Demand Reduction Cell

Pakistan, due to its geographical location, is vulnerable to poppy cultivation, opium production, trafficking of opiates and illicit precursors chemicals. According to the National Drug Survey in 2006 there are 624,000 drug addicts in Pakistan and 130,000 injecting drug users. These figures are now expected to be much higher than the 2006 survey results.  The increased tendency of use of drugs has an impact on individual, family and society as a whole.

2. Kala Dhaka Area Development Project

i.   To make the area accessible to the Administration by construction of rural roads.

ii.  To stop poppy cultivation and other illicit trades by introducing high value crops in the area.

iii. To provide irrigation channels, Hydel power generation Units and Drinking Water Supply Schemes which will improve living standards of the local people.
